*Introtur topptur – weekend trip Friday 28th to Sunday 30th of January *

*Difficulty:* 2 out of 4

*Tour guides: *Timo and Alida

*Description: *

Have you ever dreamed of endless powder snow and cutting fresh lines in untouched terrain? Do you have some experience with cross country or alpine skiing but never tried Randonnée skis? Hopefully this trip will be the perfect place to start!

This is a randonee/topptur basics weekend where we will be focusing on all the essentials of backcountry skiing. The goal is for you to get familiar with the equipment, basic avalanche assessment and rescue, clothing etc.

We will go at a slow pace, so everybody feels comfortable, and the plan is to do 2 fairly easy trips while training on avalanche assessment and proper use of necessary equipment.

We meet on Friday at 16:30 and drive to Mjølfjellet where we have booked a flat/cabin. Once we have settled in, we prepare common dinner and get started with some theory that we’ll need the next two days.

On Saturday, we do an easy trip and some practical avalanche training close to the cabin. In the evening, we will have another common dinner and a good time in the cabin.

On Sunday, before we leave this mountain area, we’ll go on a longer trip so that you get the full feeling of being on topptur. If the weather is good and the snow conditions are okay, we will try to reach a top.

We plan to be back in Bergen Sunday evening, approximately 19:00.

We don’t expect you to be an expert in handling the deep snow, however you need to be in decent shape, and it *mustn't be your first time* on skis.

We look forward to sharing our passion and hopefully we get two beautiful days in the mountains.

Alida and Timo

*Ferdaråd **(Compulsary trip meeting)*

**Regarding organized activities**

BSI Friluft is a voluntary association where neither the board nor leaders

of a trip get any economic benefits from this work. As such, the board and

leaders of a trip do not necessarily possess qualifications as mountain

guides and do not have any financial or judicial liability of any kind. Trip

leaders are merely coordinators of the activities undertaken. By Norwegian

law, in a case of emergency all are required to aid the person in need

according to their own qualifications, physical abilities, and evaluation of

the risk involved. Participators are strongly advised to assess their own

qualifications before enlisting to a trip. The trip leaders do have the

right to refuse participants who do not possess the technical or physical

skills necessary to participate in a trip. All activities are undertaken at

the participator`s own risk and responsibility, and by enlisting to a trip

the participator confirms this. A travel insurance is recommended. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
