Leif Ove Andsnes og orkesterets nye sjefdirigent Ed Gardner i Schumanns melodiøse klaverkonsert i kombinasjon med Brahms' populære første symfoni. Innledningsvis får vi høre et verk av tyske Detlev Glanert som er kjent for komposisjoner som gjenspeiler en fascinasjon for en romantisk fortid, men fra et moderne perspektiv.
Umiddelbart etter konserten inviterer vi til Musikalsk nachspiel med Leif Ove Andsnes i foajeen.

Edward Gardner teams up with the inimitable Leif Ove Andsnes in Schumann's influential piano concerto, finishing with the heartfelt nobility of Brahms.
Detlev Granert's Brahms Fantasie was commissioned by the BBC Scottish Symphony in 2012 as a companion work for Brahms' 1st Symphony. Heliogravure refers to a 19th century technique of coloring photographs using chemicals; likewise Granert's work aims to preserve an essence of Brahms while coloring it with his own creativity.
Edward Gardner has big plans for performing the masterworks of the Romantic era with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. Here he teams up with the inimitable Leif Ove Andsnes in Schumann's influential piano concerto, finishing with the heartfelt nobility of Brahms.
