Tenure-Track position in Second Language Acquisition (English) Pompeu Fabra University: Department of Translation and Language Sciences Barcelona, Spain

We are seeking to fill a faculty position in the area of Second Language Acquisition (English). This is a regular faculty appointment. Duties include research, knowledge transfer, teaching, and administrative service. We encourage applications from outstanding scientists working in the area of English SLA.

Research profile:

- knowledge of theories and models in the study of language acquisition

in bilingual and multilingual contexts, in a range of situations, including

but not limited to formal instruction, Content and Language Integrated

Learning, informal instruction, and natural contexts, such as Study Abroad;

- experience in the design of empirical studies in language acquisition

from quantitative, qualitative and mixed-methods perspectives;

- experience in the measurement of language acquisition (comprehension

and/or production skills), data collection, transcription, storage and

analysis (linguistic, cognitive and statistical);

- familiarity with technological contexts for language acquisition,

including but not limited to collaborative learning environments,

game-based instruction and assessment, resources and applications for

classroom use, corpora resources, intelligent tutoring systems, and/or

educational data mining;

- communicative skills for transferring research outcomes to the

academic community as well as society at large
