A number of PhD studentships in conversational agents, interaction,  NLP , NLP for early mental health detection issues, and games and NLP  are  available in the Cognitive Science Research Group at the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science at Queen Mary University of London.

The Cognitive Science Research Group ------------------------------------

Queen Mary's  Cognitive Science Research Group (http://cogsci.eecs.qmul.ac.uk/) where the PhD students will be located has a strong track record in the areas of conversational agents and interaction, all areas of NLP and applications such as mental health diagnosis, and the use of games-with-a-purpose (GWAPs) to collect data for NLP.

Its Computational Linguistics Lab (http://compling.eecs.qmul.ac.uk/) is one of the largest NLP labs in the UK.

The Human Interaction Lab (https://human-interaction.eecs.qmul.ac.uk/) has a strong focus on communication and miscommunication and how these processes unfold with interacting agents.
