Dear colleagues,

*FinNLP-2022 will be in conjunction with IJCAI-ECAI-2022 on 23-25 July 2022. Submission Deadline: May 13, 2022Accepted papers proceedings will be published at ACL Anthology. FinNLP-2022: https://sites.google.com/nlg.csie.ntu.edu.tw/finnlp-2022/ <https://sites.google.com/nlg.csie.ntu.edu.tw/finnlp-2022/>*

We call for three kinds of paper in the main track, including regular paper, poster paper, and demonstration paper. Two shared tasks collocates in FinNLP-2022, including “*Learning Semantic Similarities for the Financial Domain. Extended edition to ESG insights*” and “*Document Layout Analysis in the Financial Domain*”.

In the main track, we offer a USD$500 prize to the Best Paper Award winner. In the shared tasks, a USD$1000 prize will be rewarded to the best-performing teams.

>From 2019 to 2021, researchers with different backgrounds such as computer
science, economics, finance, and accounting joined the FinNLP workshop with their fine work. During either physical or virtual conferences, we had some exciting discussions. This workshop aims to provide a forum where international participants can share knowledge in applying NLP to the FinTech domain. Recently, in the financial fields, FinTech is a new industry that focuses on improving financial activity with technology. Thus, this workshop aims to bridge the gap between NLP research and financial applications. With the sharing of the researchers in FinNLP, the challenging problems of blending FinTech and NLP will be identified, and the future research direction will be shaped. That can broaden the scope of this interdisciplinary research area.

Best Regards, Chung-Chi Chen, Hen-Hsen Huang, Hiroya Takamura, and Hsin-Hsi Chen

FinTech is an emerging and popular topic in both financial and engineering domains, and the technology of textual information analysis is highly related to the scope of IJCAI. The fourth workshop on Financial Technology and Natural Language Processing (FinNLP 2022) provides a forum where international participants share knowledge on applying NLP to the FinTech domain. Topics of interest include but are not limited to text-based market provisioning, NLP-based investment management, crowdfunding analysis with textual data, text-oriented customer preference analysis, insurance application with textual information, NLP-based know your customer (KYC) approaches, and applications or systems for FinTech with NLP methods. Besides the regular paper submission, two shared tasks are co-located. The Proceedings of FinNLP-2022 will be published at ACL Anthology. Submission Guidelines
