Post-doctoral Research Fellow position in Clinical Natural Language Processing

Applications are invited for full-time post-doctoral Research Fellow in Clinical Natural Language Processing at the University of Edinburgh.

Fixed term for 24 months, the post holder will work closely with collaborators of the AIM-CISC project (Artificial Intelligence and Multimorbidity: Clustering in Individuals, Space and Clinical Context), members of the Edinburgh Clinical NLP Group, and clinical data providers, including DataLoch and Generation Scotland.

The Research Fellow will conduct original research as part of the AIM-CISC project focusing on the development and application of Natural Language Processing (NLP) methods for clinical text, with a focus on multimorbidity and prevention of adverse drug events. The aim is to extend the phenotyping potential of disease status algorithms by combining additional linked datasets and unstructured data. The post holder will also help to create gold standard data for model validation, produce material for publication and dissemination and engage with project collaborators to ensure the delivery of a cutting-edge multidisciplinary programme of research.
