An excellent opportunity for an experienced researcher to work with real-world unstructured data to assemble the healthcare “data jigsaw” in Greater Manchester. The successful candidate will develop and apply text mining algorithms for information extraction from clinical letters using (semi)-supervised and unsupervised techniques, and help integrate extracted information with structured clinical datasets. You will be part of a larger multi-disciplinary team from an exceptional consortium of academic, clinical, industrial and patient partners, including the Centre for Epidemiology Versus Arthritis, Salford Royal NHS trust, IQVIA, and the Christabel Pankhurst Institute for Health Technology Research and Innovation. Two additional NLP posts will be advertised shortly to complete the team.
