The Survey of English Usage at University College London (UCL) will be running the 8th three-day Summer School in English Corpus Linguistics from 1-3 July 2020.
This Summer School is an introductory course in corpus linguistics for students of the English language which is designed to be accessible and inspiring! You will be taught in the heart of London by world-class researchers.
Mornings consist of a ‘theory lecture’ and a ‘practical lecture’. The theory session on the first day is on English grammar, the second is on corpus linguistics methodologies and the final theory session introduces the basic principles of statistics. The afternoons consist of intensive ‘hands-on’ practical sessions where students are able to make the most of what they have learned.
We have only 25 places. Be sure to book early.
Students are expected to have a basic knowledge of concepts in English linguistics, especially grammar.
