[with apologies for cross-posting]

Hyperpartisan news presents an excessively unbalanced and unreasoning allegiance to one party, faction, cause, or person. It has often been used to stir up disagreement and discontentment online, and is one aspect of the wider issue of disinformation and fake news.

The Hyperpartisan News Detection task is to decide whether a given news article is hyperpartisan and exhibits blind, prejudiced, or unreasoning allegiance to one party, faction, cause, or person.

The deadline for participation in SemEval (and a chance to win the grand prize of 1000 USD!) is January 23rd 2019. More than 300 teams have registered; during the 'early bird' phase, the best team reached an accuracy of nearly 80%. Can you do better?!
