MyNLG: 1st Workshop on Style, Affect and Character

*******************************************************************************************************
The "MyNLG: Style, Affect and Character Adaptive Natural Language Generation" international workshop
will be held during the 11th International Conference on Natural Language Generation (INLG 2018)
at Tilburg University, the Netherlands, on November 5th 2018.
NLG is now a cornerstone for applications ranging from chatbots and artificial assistants to automatic
scientific paper and book generation. Especially relevant but challenging is to make NLG adaptive
towards characteristics of the user and to incorporate emotions, affect, feedback and other reactions
in interactive settings. Since these challenges might not be met by engineering solutions alone,
we especially welcome research from a psycholinguistics and cognitive science perspective as well as
user studies to shed more light on important factors and guiding principles of adaptive NLG.
The MyNLG workshop invites researchers and industry practitioners interested in both computational and
cognitive communities to share knowledge and resources, discuss new ideas and build foundations
of possible future collaborations. The workshop welcomes interested participants working in related
fields, including: Natural Language Generation, Character Computing, Computational Linguistics,
Human Computer Interaction, Psycholinguistics and Cognitive Psychology. The aim of this workshop is
to present research on making Natural Language Generation (NLG) systems more adaptive in all possible
aspects, including affect, style, character, context, formality and complexity.
