The student will work in conjunction with an EU project with the goal of making translation significantly more robust in environments with limited training data. This is an exciting opportunity to work on an internationally visible project, where the interests of the student can drive a significant portion of the work. The research will be deployed at the BBC World Service and Deutsche Welle, in order to improve their monitoring capabilities and the production of news content across a range of African and Indian languages.
You should have the following :
- A degree (or near completion) in computer science, artificial intelligence, or a related discipline, - Background in machine learning and natural language processing, - Strong programming skills, ideally including C++.
