You are invited to attend the fifth edition of the Italian Conference on Computational Linguistics, CLiC-it, which will be held in Torino on 10-12 December, 2018.á The conference is locally organised by the University of Torino, and will be held at the main lecture hall “Cavallerizza Reale” of the University located in Via Giuseppe Verdi, 5, Torino. The CLiC-it conference series is an initiative of the Italian Association for Computational Linguistics (AILC) which, after five years of activity, has clearly established itself as the premier national forum for research and development in the fields of Computational Linguistics and Natural Language Processing, where leading researchers and practitioners from academia and industry meet to share their research results, experiences, and challenges.

The technical part consists of 18 oral presentations, 45 poster presentations, and 6 research communications.á The conference also features 2 keynote speakers:

* Johan Bos (University of Groningen) – "Computational Semantics in Neural Times"

* Iryna Gurevych (TU Darmstadt) – "Disentangling the Thoughts: Latest News in Computational Argumentation"

The conference also includes a tutorial:

* Paolo Rosso (Technical University of Valencia) - "Profiling Information in Social Media"

The conference will be followed by EVALITA 2018 (online program http://www.evalita.it/2018/workshop-program), the 6th evaluation campaign of Natural Language Processing and speech tools for the Italian language.

Awards ----------

In order to award the work of young researchers, the title of best paper will be attributed by a special jury to a paper with a PhD student and/or postDoc first author (the student must present the paper at CLIC-it).á To recognise excellence in student research a prize will also be awarded by a special jury to the best master thesis in Computational Linguistics submitted at an Italian university.
