Bogazici University Computer Engineering Department is seeking applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position. This is a full-time position which begins in 2018. A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field is required. We are particularly interested in candidates with strong research potential, demonstrated skill in teaching, and familiarity with industry practices.
Boğaziçi University is located in Istanbul, Turkey. Founded in 1863 under the name of Robert College, being the first American college founded outside the borders of the US, it served as a leading international institution of higher learning in the region for more than a century and then transformed into a Turkish state university. The official educational language is English, and it maintains broad international educational exchange programs, with significant number of international students on campus. Bogazici University has over 570 faculty members and over 760 academic staff and research assistants. The Computer Engineering Department (CMPE) at Bogazici University is one of the most competitive and attractive departments in Turkey. It is ABET accredited. Currently, there are about 400 undergraduate and 200 graduate students in the department. In addition to its strong Ph.D. program which is also supported by Telematics and Informatics Research Center, it also has two MS programs: Computer Engineering and Software Engineering. Each year nearly five professors from well-known international institutions come to the Computer Engineering Department for sabbatical and summer schools, or for giving talks and short term courses. The department receives project fundings from national agencies such as the Ministry of Development, The Scientific And Technological Research Council Of Turkey (TUBITAK) as well as the industry and international foundations such as SRC, IBM, Intel and Microsoft.
