[Corpora-List] Open call for short-time visiting lecturer in digital humanities or quantitative humanities studies

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities <https://humanitaarteadused.ut.ee/en> of University of Tartu <http://www.ut.ee/en> welcomes applicants for short-term visiting lectureships in digital humanities or any field of quantitative humanities studies. The University of Tartu will offer *three *new positions in digital humanities for one semester (5 months) each, during the period 2018–2019. The purpose of these semester-long positions is to extend, develop and diversify the curricula and local research potential in various areas of digital humanities in Estonia via exchange of knowledge, skills and teaching experience.

Positions will be awarded on a competitive basis and will be full time for five months, either during the autumn (September–January) or spring (February–June) semester. The exact duration of the visit is negotiable. The lecturer is expected to teach at least two courses (both 3–6 ECTS) during the visit in the area of her/his expertise and consult local researchers and students on related topics. We encourage applicants working in any field of digital humanities studies. Early-stage researchers and recent PhDs are also encouraged to apply.

Assessment criteria include the topics of proposed courses, the applicant’s previous teaching experience, publication record and letter of motivation. We will attempt to achieve diversity of fields and topics to be covered in the courses provided by the three approved applicants.

Please send Andres Kimber (andres.kimber at ut.ee) your CV, a short description of two courses you are prepared to teach and a short motivation letter (1–2 pages) describing your earlier teaching experience, research topics and motivation to work at the University of Tartu. Please also provide a preferred time period for your visit*. The monthly salary will be 2400–2800 EUR (after all tax reductions appr. 1900–2200 EUR for Estonian tax residents). The salary is negotiable, depending on the competence and experience of the applicant, as well as the exact period of work.

The candidate is required to be a resident of a country other than Estonia, and to not have been an academic employee in Estonia for more than 10 months in total, after 30.10.2010.

The position is financed by the University of Tartu ASTRA Project PER ASPERA (European Regional Development Fund).
