As Lecturer, you will carry out research, teaching and management within the School of Computing at Leeds University, and contribute to academic leadership in the field of Computer Science with specific emphasis on our Joint School Programme with Southwest Jiaotong University in Chengdu, China.
Undergraduate students at the Joint School study 4-year Bachelor degrees, with a common first year that focuses on core study skills and knowledge in English (including development of language skills and technical skills in mathematics and physics). From year two onwards students study specialist modules based around their choice of major. All teaching and assessment is in English, mirroring the Leeds syllabus supplemented by additional material to ensure that requirements for their SWJTU degree are also met.
This post will be part of the University’s “flying faculty” staff, delivering the teaching in China in short intensive blocks, which means that you will be expected to spend some of the year (typically 4 to 6 weeks in a calendar year) in Chengdu, working at the Joint School. The majority of your time will be based at the University of Leeds.
