We are happy to announce the release of EmoBank, a 10k sentences corpus annotated for emotion according to the psychological Valence-Arousal-Dominance (VAD) model.

VAD assumes that emotional states can be best represented in terms of three independent emotional *dimensions*: Valence (corresponding to polarity), Arousal (a calm-excited scale) and Dominance (feeling (not) in control of a social situation).

EmoBank is special for having two kinds of double annotations: Each sentence was annotated by multiple raters according to both the emotion which is expressed by the writer, and the emotion which is evoked in readers. Also, a subset of the corpus has been previously annotated according to Ekman's 6 Basic Emotions so that mappings between both representation formats become possible. The data is available under a CC-BY 4.0 license via https://github.com/JULIELab/EmoBank
