[Corpora-List] is there an archived version of Robert de Beaugrande's original website somewhere on the internet?

Hi Ramesh,

You may have already been pointed to this (I didn’t check the entire thread) but here is a link to de Beaugrande’s Linguistic Theory website (including the Firth chapter): https://web.archive.org/web/20090916131057/http://www.beaugrande.com/LINGTHERLinguistic%20Theory%20Title.htm<https://web.archive.org/web/20090916131057/http:/www.beaugrande.com/LINGTHERLinguistic%20Theory%20Title.htm>.

All the best, Ute

I think it's more likely that Beaugrande only rented the site that bears his name for 3 or 5 years after his untimely death. The Wayback Machine is great. Looking at the various "captures" if Beaugrande's website makes me realize again what a frequent visitor I once was there.

What a marvelous thinker we lost in Robert!

I specifically wanted to reference his Linguistic Theory chapter on Firth...

but in view of his stated wish to distribute all his books free (in 2002?) i am concerned that someone else (publishers?) may have taken down his original website?

any information gratefully accepted!

best Ramesh
