ONE POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER IN NATURAL LANGUAGE PROCESSING / INFORMATION RETRIEVAL
We are looking for a highly-motivated candidate to conduct research and development on the topic of event-oriented information extraction and retrieval as part of the EVERBEST project (http://everbest.tk).
We will consider applications from applicants with one of the following profiles:
1. Candidates with a strong background in (1) statistical natural language processing, (2) information retrieval, and/or (2) machine learning, and with solid skills and experience in production-level software development (especially web development).
2. Candidates with a strong software engineering background (especially experienced web developers) with basic knowledge of natural language processing, information retrieval, and/or machine learning.
Candidates should have a PhD degree in Computer Science, Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, or Software Engineering. The researcher will be located in Zagreb, Croatia at the Text Analysis and Knowledge Engineering Lab (TakeLab), Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing of the University of Zagreb, the leading group for natural language processing and information retrieval in Croatia (more information can be found at http://takelab.fer.hr/).
Duration: this is a full-time position for the duration of one year (starting in Autumn 2016). Salary range: 100% Croatian public scale's salary of coefficient 1.6 (monthly gross salary of around 12.600 HRK).
