The School of Informatics, University of Edinburgh invites applications for a full-time, fixed term Research Associate position on the project ``Readers: Evaluation and Development of Reading Systems'', funded by the EPSRC. The project seeks to extract meaning representations from different data sources such as knowledge bases, images, and unstructured text and to employ these in machine reading tasks such as question answering, semantic parsing or semantic role labeling.

The position is suitable for a candidate with a PhD in Natural Language Processing, computer science, mathematics, or a related discipline. The successful applicant will have strong programming skills and experience with natural language processing and statistical mahcine learning. Experience with image processing and/or deep learning methods is also desirable. The starting date will be 01 April 2015, or as soon as possible thereafter.
