Dear Participants:

You are invited to participate in a research survey of Big Data Initiatives for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The survey is being conducted by the Task Team on Using Big Data for SDGs under the Global Working Group on Big Data for Official Statistics, which were established by the United Nations Statistical Commission in 2014.

The Task Team is a multi-agency collaboration of the World Bank, National Institute of Statistics and Geography of Mexico (INEGI), United Nations, and other research institutes. The results of the survey will support and feed the Task Team in the development of guidance for using big data for monitoring SDGs and for the development of an inventory of projects using Big Data sources for monitoring of the SDGs. You can find more information on the background of this study and the formation of the Task Team on the introduction page of the survey.

Kindly note that this survey is complementary to the Global Assessment of the Use of Big Data for Official Statistics – a survey you may have received from the Global Working Group on Big Data for Official Statistics, and we would encourage you to complete both surveys.

The link to this survey is https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/bd4sdgs. It should take approximately 10 to 20 minutes to finish, depending on the amount of details you provide. We would be grateful to receive your response by Wednesday, August 19, 2015.

We have to inform you that we cannot fully guarantee the privacy via SurveyMonkey, and if you have any concern in that respect, we advise that you complete the attached PDF version and send it to Kenneth Moreno kmorenosermeno at worldbank.org.

Thank you very much for your contribution.

Kind regards,

Amparo Ballivian
