Conference themes
The aimof the Language in the Real World conference is to bring togetheracademics and other professionals and provide them with a shared forum in whichthey can discuss, probe and/or challenge the relevance of (the teaching of)Applied Linguistics for the ‘real world’ outside the boundaries of academia.
Theconference aims to approach language and discourse from the point of view oftheory, pedagogy and practice within the following broad areas:

* (critical) discourse     analysis
* business discourse /     business communication
* forensic linguistics
* The development of     teaching/learning materials
* English/Foreign language     education
