Background Information ----------------------

Saarland University is one of the major centers for computational linguistics and computer science worldwide. With the recent installation of the Cluster of Excellence "Multimodal Computing and Interaction", based on a multi-million euro grant by the German "Excellence Initiative", the university is set to become an even more dynamic research environment. The cluster brings together researchers from the Saarland University's departments of Computational Linguistics and Computer Science, the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), and the two Max Planck Institutes for Computer Science and Software Systems. Researchers come from all over the world and the research language is English.
