Kurset koster 1900kr. Roughly 90 minutes away from Bergen by either train or car you will find one of the best places in the world for pursuing this extreme sport! But you do not need to be afraid! Whitewater kayaking is sport that fits everyone who is able to swim and at least to some degree interested in water sports. The first weekend in September, BSI Friluft will offer a two-day beginnerâs course in Whitewater Kayaking in cooperation with BSI Padling The latter will provide rental equipment and after approximately 16 hours of course instruction you will receive the âVÃ¥ttkortâ, i.e. a certificate showing your formal ability to pursue Whitewater Kayaking on your own. The course fee is 1900 NOK. Additionally there will be expenses related to transportation and food. The plan is to drive together to Voss on Saturday morning. Then there will be two full days with a lot of paddling. Saturday night we will camp in tents some place in Voss, make dinner and maybe make a bonfire? On Sunday, we are planning to be back in Bergen in the evening.  Difficulty: 1 out of 4 (easy). You need to be able to swim and be able to carry you own equipment (totalling around 20kg) Organisation: As mentioned, this trip is actually a course where you will learn the basics of Whitewater kayaking so that you are able to continue on your own afterwards. The content is defined by the Norwegian paddling association called NPF. This includes that you will receive a certificate called âVÃ¥ttkortâ after the course. The course is organised in cooperation with BSI Padling. They are providing equipment and cover for the instructorsâ expenses. When you get an offer to join the trip, you will receive another email with a link to a sign up form, which also includes the payment for the course fee of 1900 NOK. There will most likely also be some small expenses w.r.t. transportation to Voss and common food on Saturday (We will be talking about this at the trip meeting). We are planning to follow this schedule: Monday 28th: This email goes out Tuesday 29th.: You will get a notification if you got a spot for this trip (If you do not hear from us by 9PM you most likely did not get a spot, as we unfortunately do not have time to answer everyone). When you get the positive answer, you have to confirm and sign up on a separate web form that also handles the payment of the course fee. Thursday 31st.: Trip meeting, 5:30PM at the «studentsenteret». There we will be talking about trip safety and logistics. We are dependent on organising at least one more car to get everyone to Voss and to get around there. So if you have a car or can organise one, that would be awesome. Saturday 2nd: We will be meeting early morning (8 am) at the boathouse of BSI Padling to organize equipment for everyone. Afterwards, we will drive to Voss and plan to be on the water around 11am to begin with the course. We will most likely be done by 6PM.
