Costs:
+ 269 kr train from Bergen to Haugastøl

+ 165 kr cabin (Hallingskeid) with DNT membership (345 kr per year if you are 25 or younger)
+ 450 kr cabin (Hallingskeid) without DNT membership
+ 371 kr bus and train back from Flåm to Bergen
+ 60 kr food (rough estimate)
—————————————————————————————
= 1820 kr with DNT membership (2105 kr without)
Saturday:
We are meeting at the central station at 9:00 and are taking the R40 train from Bergen to Haugastøl (departure 9:21, arrival 13:04). In Haugastøl we pick up rental bikes and start our journey towards Hallingskeid. Bringing your own bike is also possible, but it needs to fit the terrain and be aware that taking it with you on the train is basically the same cost as renting one. After around 4-5 hours we will arrive at the DNT cabin in Hallingskeid where we are eating dinner and staying the night.
Sunday:
After eating breakfast, we take on the last bit of the route, which is mostly downhill to Flåm. Depending on when we leave Hallingskeid, we can also spend some time in Flåm, optionally with an ice cold dip in the fjord ;)
We are not in a big hurry on Sunday, as the best option for our way back to Bergen is the bus that leaves 16:20 in Flåm with a change to the F4 train in Voss and arrival at 19:10 in Bergen. We might also consider taking the R45 train (Flåmsbana) instead, but this would cost twice as much and take one more hour.
There will be a mandatory planning meeting (ferdaråd) at 17:00 on Wednesday September 11th by the cafe on the first floor of Realfagbygget.
Mandatory equipment:
* Bike: Either a rental bike or you can bring your own (it needs to be a gravel or mountain bike)
* Bags: I recommend bags that can be attached to the bike, but a backpack works too. It is also possible to rent bags at the bike rental!
* At least one water bottle. We can refill our bottles quite often on the way
* Nutrition: Energy/muesli bars, bananas etc.
* Proper clothing: Rain jacket, layered clothing (Most of the route is over 1000 m)
* Regular clothing for after the ride
* Sleeping bag/liner
* Helmet (can be rented)
* Cycling or sunglasses
* Headlight (the sunset is around 20:00, but better safe than sorry)
