This weekend we’re going to Voss! The plan is to catch either a train + bus or rent cars on Friday to drive to a cosy cabin near Voss. Our cabin is located in the middle of the mountains, so we will walk 3,5 km from the bus stop/parking spot to reach it.
The days will be spent chasing some powder while the evenings will be spent in the cabin practising some cosy cabin vibes. We expect you to have some experience with ski touring and you should be able to ski down safely, but it definitely doesn’t have to look graceful! The goal is to have fun whilst avoiding avalanche terrain wherever possible.
Packing/equipment list:
- Topptur skis (Randonee, splitboard, telemark), boots, poles and skins - (possible to rent
from BSI)
- Avalanche equipment: beacon, probe and shovel (possible to rent from BSI)
- Helmet
- Goggles
- Headtorch
- Warm clothes:
- Wool base layer (x2)
- Water- and windproof outer layer
- Insulating middle layer (e.g. downjacket)
- Ski/wool socks.
- Mittens and hats.
- Day backpack that fits all equipment, water and food
- Sleeping bag (cabin does not provide duvets and pillows)
- Extra batteries

We will let you know if you’ve secured a spot on Monday 12th February, and on Wednesday 14th February at 17:30 we’ll have a mandatory “Ferdaråd” (trip meeting) at Studentsenteret. If anyone needs to rent something, we’ll go to the equipment room afterwards.
