Trail Running in Stølsheimen, September 30th to October 02nd 2022

Difficulty: 3/4 out of 4

Trip coordinators: Andrew and Adrien

Description:

Friday:

We meet in the city center at 17:00 and drive to Steinsland in Stølsheimen. The drive is approximately 1h40min.

From Steinsland, we run a trail up to the DNT cabin Nordalshytta, 10km for 900 meters of positive elevation. Part of the run will be in the dark, we will use headlamps. When we arrive at Nordalshytta, we prepare a simple dinner with the food available there, plan the next day’s trip and relax.

Saturday:

We get up early, have breakfast before we start for a long run: 33km and 1500 meters of positive elevation. We will first run sligtly up and down on the plateau, then all the way down to Sognfjord, up again to Kleivfjellet, and finally down to the DNT cabin Solrenningen .

Back at the cabin, we enjoy ourselves with a good dinner, games and proper Norwegian cabin atmosphere.

Sunday:

After a good night’s sleep, we have breakfast before we return to Steinsland, with a somehwat easy run flat/down of 17km. We will arrive back in Bergen in the Afternoon.

DNT membership: https://english.dnt.no/join/ If you are below 27, a membership makes sense if you use a cabin at least twice before the end of the year. By Norwegian law, in a case of emergency all are required to aid the person in need according to their own qualifications, physical abilities, and evaluation of the risk involved. Participators are strongly advised to assess their own qualifications before enlisting to a trip. The trip leaders do have the right to refuse participants who do not possess the technical or physical skills necessary to participate in a trip, All activities are undertaken at the participator`s own risk and responsibility, and by enlisting to a trip the participator confirms this.
