Description: Friday: We drive from Bergen to Kinsarvik Friday afternoon, hike the first part of Dronningstien and find a place to camp. We will either bring tents or sleep under the stars (if we’re lucky with the weather!!).
Saturday: We get up, have breakfast and pack our stuff before we continue hiking Dronningstien. The hike is estimated to 5 hours with 14km and 892 height meters in totalt. Dronningstien is also known as The H.M. Queen Sonja’s Panorama Hiking Trail, and is H.M. Queen Sonja’s favorite hiking trails. Given the spectacular view over the Sørfjorden during the entire hike, it has become one of Norway’s most popular hiking trails! After arriving Lofthus we’ll drive back to Bergen.
Ferdaråd (compulsary trip meeting): It is mandatory (!) to participate in the trip meeting on Wednesday 17th of August at 17:30 at the Student centre (in front of the canteen). Not showing up results in losing the place to the first on the waiting list.
Equipment: You need the following equipment to participate: · Proper hiking boots · Appropriate clothing for being in mountain terrain (no jeans and cotton (!) ) · Rain clothes (water- and windproof jacket and trousers) · Hat, mittens and scarf · Backpack with space for your own and common equipment (food and safety equipment) · Sleeping bag, sleeping mat, tent · Sunglasses and sunscreen · Head lamp and extra batteries · At least 1 liter of water · Breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner for Friday and Saturday
Requirements for participants: Apart from the equipment, you need to have: · Capacity to do a steep and long hike, as well as carrying your own food, drink and camping gear · You need to be a member of BSI. See link further down to find information about signing up.

Costs: The trip itself is free, but everyone has to pay their share of transportation. · Transport: Between 450 kr and 600 kr each, depending on if we need to rent a car. If you need to rent any equipment from BSI, this will an extra cost for you. Equipment can be rented on Wednesday after the trip meeting, see link below.
