Difficulty: 3 out of 4
Trip coordinators: Timo and Adrien
Description:
Friday:
We meet in front of Kode museum at 12:00 and drive to Hope close to Ålfotbreen. The drive is approximately 4h 30min.
>From Hope, we do a steep hike up to the DNT cabin Gjegnabu. The trail
starts close to sea level and changes from forest to alpine terrain on the
way up. The total ascent is 1200 meters and part of the hike will be in the
dark. When we arrive at Gjegnabu, we prepare a simple dinner, plan the next
day’s trip and relax.
Saturday:
We get up early, have breakfast before we start a day trip to Gjegnen, also called Blånibba, the highest peak in the area with 1670 meters. The trip will be approximately 17 km in alpine, partly exposed terrain with 1000 meters ascent and descent.
Back at the cabin, we enjoy ourselves with a good dinner, games and proper Norwegian cabin atmosphere.
Sunday:
After a good night’s sleep, we have breakfast before we return to the valley, same way as we came on Friday. We will arrive back in Bergen in the evening.
Total km with height meters and estimated time:
Day 1: The hike to Gjegnabu is 6.5 km and 1200 height meters uphill. The trail is steep, first through forest and eventually through alpine terrain. The last part will be in the dark. Approx. 5 hours hike.
Day 2: The day trip to Gjegnen is 17 km with 1000 meters up and down. Approx. 5-6 hours walk. Alpine and partly exposed terrain.
Day 3: Same way down as we came up on Friday.

DNT membership: https://english.dnt.no/join/ If you are below 27, a membership makes sense if you use a cabin at least twice before the end of the year. *Regarding organized activities*
BSI Friluft is a voluntary association where neither the board nor leaders of a trip get any economic benefits from this work. As such, the board and leaders of a trip do not necessarily possess qualifications as mountain guides and do not have any financial or judicial liability of any kind. Trip leaders are merely coordinators of the activities undertaken. By Norwegian law, in a case of emergency all are required to aid the person in need according to their own qualifications, physical abilities, and evaluation of the risk involved. Participators are strongly advised to assess their own qualifications before enlisting to a trip. The trip leaders do have the right to refuse participants who do not possess the technical or physical skills necessary to participate in a trip, All activities are undertaken at the participator`s own risk and responsibility, and by enlisting to a trip the participator confirms this. A travel insurance is recommended. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
