Date: Saturday Sept 19th - Sunday Sep 20th. Mandatory trip meeting on wednesday Sept 16th at 17:00. Difficulty: 1-2 out of 4. Number of participants: 6 participants + 2 trip leaders (Malene & Tomke)

TURBESKRIVELSE (for english, see below):

TRIP DESCRIPTION

We will take the bus to Os on Saturday morning (departure about 9 o’clock, arrival Os about 10 o’clock) and explore the lake Hauglandsvatnet by canoe. There is a nice camp spot at the northern end of the lake which would be 8 km paddling (about 3h). It is also possible to continue further up in the lake system with a few short episodes of carrying the canoe. How far we paddle depends on the weather conditions and on the group, so we will make this decision together on the trip meeting on Wednesday. To join this trip you MUST be able to swim at least 200m, have some previous paddling experience and be comfortable maneuvering a canoe. We will be sleeping in tents and cook dinner outside, so you need to be able to keep yourself warm and dry. Other than that this should be an easy and relaxing trip! We hope to catch some fish and in the evening we will enjoy a nice dinner around the bonfire. We might also practice building an emergency shelter using the canoe, a great skill to learn! On Sunday we paddle back to the bus stop and will be back in Bergen on Sunday afternoon/evening.

MANDATORY TRIP MEETING Wednesday at 17:00 in front of the canteen at Studentsentret (Parkveien 1). Not showing up results in losing your spot to the first on the waiting list.

COVID-19: We wil be outside the whole week-end which is good in regards to Covid-19. However, we will be taking the local bus to get to the start of the trip. It is up to you to follow the guidelines from Folkehelsemyndigheten at the time regarding use of face mask etc. As for sleeping arrangements, our suggestion is that those who share a canoe also share a tent in order to limit contact within the group. We will discuss details on the trip meeting.

We'll do our best to keep 1 m distance between us during the trip. Still, it is important to be extra careful BEFORE the trip to decrease the chances of making the whole group sick. If you show symptoms, you need to be honest and stay home. You cannot join the trip if you are in quarantine.
