[Corpora-List] Fully-funded PhD studentships -- Linguistics, Bangor University

The School of Linguistics at Bangor University seeks applications from well-qualified students to undertake a fully-funded PhD by research (three such studentships are available). Applicants must apply no later than March 23rd 2012 to be considered for the studentship competition. The studentships provide full-funding (including tuition waiver and stipend) for three years. Each holder of a PhD studentship receives an annual maintenance grant of £13,000, and also receives an annual research allowance of up to £1,500 (for approved expenditure). Successful studentship applicants will be expected to supply around 100 hours per year of teaching/research assistance focused on a supervisor / research team as part of their development as an academic of the future. The School of Linguistics seeks specific research proposals in some aspect of either Cognitive Linguistics, or Bilingualism, the two research priorities of the department.

In addition to the application form, applicants are required to provide electronically:

* A statement (max 500 words) of your relevant research skills (such

as computer skills, relevant prior experience, the title and a

brief description of any previous graduate study).

* A synopsis (max 1000 words) of your main research interests and

proposed research project. *In doing so, please also stipulate

that you are applying to the School of Linguistics, and/or the

prospective supervisor with whom you may have discussed your

project.*
