Dear Kiran,

Ken Hyland published a list of boosters in academic language in Appendix 3 of _Disciplinary Discourses_ (2000; Harlow, Essex: Pearson). I reproduce it here, believing such a list cannot be copyrighted, but then IANAL.

I've used it some times as a reference, but I don't know whether there are more comprehensive lists available; this one would be quite unsuited for anything but academic prose.

(we) know (we) think actually always apparent beyond doubt certain that certainly certainty clearly conclusively decidedly definitely demonstrate determine doubtless essential establish evidently find that found that I believe I show in fact indeed is clear it is known that must never no doubt obvious obviously of course prove sure the fact that true undoubtedly we show well-known will won't

Best,

Alon
