The British National Corpus is a rich source of all those kinds of texts, but it costs some money to use.  A google search will get you the details!

	I'm looking for some machine readable texts, poetry, scientific journal abstracts, and emails in particular.  These don't need to be tagged etc, but they need to be in English.  Any suggestions welcome!
